New Daily Rapid Testing Rules for Covid Contacts Comes into Force

From today (14th December) new rules have come into force which mean that people who are fully vaccinated and identified as a contact of someone with Covid-19 should take an NHS rapid lateral flow test every day for seven days.

If any of these tests return a positive result, they should self-isolate for 10 days. The government guidance is available here.

The new daily testing policy does not apply to unvaccinated adults and they must self-isolate for ten days if they are a contact of someone who tests positive for Covid-19.

Rules on self-isolating relating to colleagues that have a positive Covid test or are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 remain.

From Wednesday 15th December, Covid-19 passes will become mandatory to enter large event venues and nightclubs but not shops. This will require individuals to be either fully vaccinated or present a negative lateral flow test result.

ACS has developed posters that retailers can use in stores to remind customers about the requirement to wear face coverings unless they are exempt, the posters are available to download here: https://www.acs.org.uk/covid-19/face-coverings
