Nuneaton MP Visits Local Heron Foods Store

MP for Nuneaton Marcus Jones has visited a Heron Foods store on Nuneaton high street to discuss access to high streets and business rates.

Charles Whyte, Heron Foods Area Manager said, “It was great to meet Marcus at our Nuneaton store, I am grateful for him taking the time out of his busy schedule to meet me. Marcus and myself discussed various issues such as the national minimum wage, car parking at the front of the store and retail crime. Marcus was genuinely impressed with the various benefits of shopping at Heron Foods and all of the positives that we give back to our local community. Moving forward, we hope to make a positive difference to our community together.”

Marcus Jones MP said, “I was very pleased to have the opportunity to visit Heron Foods with the Association of Convenience Stores, to meet their staff and to learn more about the offer they provide to local people here in Nuneaton. It is evident that the business is well liked in the town and I wish it every continued success.”

Heron Foods was established in 1979, but now trades from over 240 stores, employing over 3,000 people. The Heron Foods Nuneaton store was refurbished in 2015 and now provides a wide category range for consumers in the town.
