ACS is delighted to announce more details for this year’s Power, Mobility and Convenience Conference.

This year’s conference, taking place online on 5th July from 10:00am, will explore how the UK’s 7,000+ forecourts can adapt and change in the future on the road to Net Zero, as well as looking at new and emerging store formats. With the growth of the electric vehicle market challenging the traditional forecourt model, more retailers are looking to innovate to stay relevant to a demanding modern consumer.

The PMC conference will give an inside look at where leading retailers are investing, both on the forecourt and in the store to provide the right range of fuel and power options, products and services for their communities.

Speaking at this year’s conference will be a host of industry experts who will provide new insights into the future of power and convenience, not just for those interested in the forecourt market but also anyone in the wider retail sector.

Our speakers include:

  • Ed Birkett, Head of Energy & Climate, Onward
  • Jean-Baptiste Merkel, Manager, Mobility Electrification Connectivity and Autonomous Driving, Kia Motors UK
  • Paul Young, UK Mobility Engineering Manager, Shell
  • Sabine Benoit, Professor of Marketing, University of Surrey
  • Ed Woodall, Government Relations Director, ACS
  • Chris Noice, Communications Director, ACS

Figures from the 2021 Forecourt Report show that UK forecourts currently provide over 88,000 local jobs, with three quarters of forecourt retailers (76%) engaging in their communities over the last year.

The latest figures from Zap-Map show that there are now over 30,000 electric charging points at almost 20,000 locations, including petrol forecourts and convenience stores – three times the number that there were in 2018.
