Get Involved with Small Business Saturday 2017

ACS is encouraging convenience store retailers to get involved in Small Business Saturday 2017, taking place on December 2nd.

Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots campaign which encourages shoppers to ‘shop local’ and support the small businesses serving their communities. Now in its fifth year, the campaign engages with millions of customers and aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses.

Highlights from last year include:

  • Customers spent at total of £717m with small businesses on Small Business Saturday
  • More than 140,000 tweets were sent on the day, trending on Twitter in both the UK and globally
  • Over 80% of local authorities actively supported the campaign, from networking events to free parking

ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “Small Business Saturday highlights the vital role that local shops play in their communities and the importance of supporting them. We are delighted to support this campaign and would urge everyone to get involved on December 2nd.”

More information about Small Business Saturday can be found at www.smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com where retailers can register their details to be included on the national Small Business Finder, as well as downloading marketing packs for the day.
