Reform Publish ‘Contract with You’ Ahead of 2024 Election

The Reform Party have published their contract with voters ahead of the 2024 General Election, pledging to raise the income tax threshold to £20,000 per annum if they were to form the next Government.

The contract sets out a series of changes that the party would make in the first 100 days of Government, claiming to ‘stand up for British culture, identity and values’ and ‘take back control over our borders, our money and our laws’.

Measures announced in the Reform ‘Contract with You’ include:

  • Abolish the VAT tourist tax
  • Lower fuel duty by 20p for both residential and business users
  • Lift the minimum profit threshold for corporation tax to £100,000
  • Lift the VAT threshold to £150,000
  • Abolish business rates for high street based SMEs, offset by an online delivery tax of 4% for large multinational enterprises

Crime

  • Require prison sentences for violent crimes and possession of a knife

Throughout the General Election campaign, ACS is encouraging retailers to make the most of the opportunity to invite prospective parliamentary candidates into store to explain the issues that are affecting their business both locally and nationally.

ACS has put together a guide on how to run a store visit as well as a useful online tool to request a visit with candidates, plus a graphic of all of the main party manifestos and their pledges on areas that affect local shops. All of this is available in the ACS Election Centre here.
